Famed New York jeweler, Fred Leighton, was looking to make a decisive mark on Rodeo with it's West Coast Flagship. They chose LINE to perpetuate the brand's Deco aesthetic and luxury brand image whilst introducing a contemporary flair. Developing new materials and working with the latest technologies, LINE designed a new look that is derived from the past whilst not being derivative. Functionally, LINE worked with a difficult space, modulating the challenging volumetrics to provide comfortable spaces, orchestrated flow and ease of merchandising
For the second VB store, located in the Palisades Village, LINE evolved the brand’s look to integrate into the local context. Introducing surf themed props and finishes into the beloved feminine elegance the brand is known for, delivers a contextualized yet highly branded retail experience.
The analogy given by the client was the creation of the feel of a safari tent, within the context of a large modern home. LINE developed an overall design characterized by sculptural elements, rich finishes and sumptuous and unexpected combinations creating a new, comfortable and wholly original home. Each material was treated so as to emphasize its inherent characteristics. Metals were polished, or burnished, woods were gouged, waxed, distressed, or left raw, stone was chiseled, hammered or polished, all creating a series of finishes which heighten one's experience of the material. Particular attention was given to lighting and to furnishings, which were custom designed by LINE. Finally, all the woods specified for the project were either reclaimed or FSC certified.
When an old friend and client wanted to leverage his passion and knowledge for wood, he turned to LINE to deliver a turn key brand portfolio. From name and logo, to web, retail, merchandising and branding, Vision Wood has come to life. A close collaboration between client, product and design has delivered a business that is already serving the world’s best known architects and developers.

For their first West Coast location, the up and coming, exciting fashion boutique Veronica Beard chose Melrose Place and LINE architecture. Working closely with GC, landscape and interior designer Carolina Deneufville, we were able to deliver concept to opening in a two and a half month time frame (which also spanned the holidays!). Using bespoke materials, furnishings and finishes, the store is both contextual to its location and representative of its brand pathos.
A former commercial client hired us again when it came time to redesigning his home. Located on top of a hill overlooking a canyon that gives on to the Pacific Ocean the home sat on stilts, commanded a breathtaking view, but had been designed poorly. Opting to totally gut the home vs. knocking it down, the client worked with LINE to take full advantage of the site and the interior. After developing all the architecture, lighting and spec.s, designing the majority of the furniture and selecting finishes and artwork, LINE worked with the client to deliver the home on budget and schedule. This house was featured California Home and Design Magazine.
Located in the heart of one of the most cutting edge neighborhoods in the US, this creative office for a well known film studio included designing unique fabrics, finishes and furnishings. The environment is as unique as it is flexible and all the fishes from the woods, plastics and cementitious finishes were one of a kind developed by artisans specifically for this project.
For her LA salon on La Cienega, legendary stylist Sally Hershberger wanted to maximize natural lighting and views while minimizing clutter and mess. We developed a runway concept that glamorizes the event of hairstyling while creating a branded environment as sexy as the services offered. Also, we did not take a TI in a Craig Ellwood lightly and hope some of his genius also shines through.
